KSpynix is a proof of concept code written in Python that demonstrates the idea of a spyware on a Unix system. The code is written for *BSD and Gentoo Linux systems and will try to steal private browser information. For the moment, KSpynix can list all the installed programs, can spy the web sites the victim visited, can obtain a list of e-mail addresses, cookies, can hijack Opera's main page and can do the things you want if the victim have root powers (like copy the /etc/htpasswd file). All the information is put in a repository. To send the information, the spyware could create a shell script that would use sftp or other tools.
