Xavior, by LithiumSoft is an online password cracking tool similar to Brutus and wwwhack. It allows administrators to run a brute-force scan against their password-protected service, being POP-3, WWW basic authorization, router, FTP and others.
The attack is performed by first defining the login procedure (i.e. the login prompt text, what should be sent, the anticipated response, etc) and then launching the attack using a bank of username/passwords or a fully brute-force attack (trying all possible combinations). This scheme allows testing of almost any customized service.
Even though the Freeware version only supports dictionary attacks, it still includes very interesting features, such as the ability to save the current position and continue the attack from that point at a later stage, support for proxy in WWW authentications, and a fully multithreaded attack (which makes this tool very fast).
Xavior is still in development, and the author invites you to share your suggestions or wanted features in the product. Realistic requests will be implemented in future versions.

| To answer the previous comment, no this is not illegal if you use it against your own services. The best way to test security is to try and force yourself in then you will find out how secure your passwords are. |
