Symantec Endpoint Protection Cross Site Scripting Vulnerability
10 Apr. 2011
Summary
This allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via (1) the token parameter to portal/Help.jsp or (2) the URI in a console/apps/sepm request.
Symantec Endpoint Protection is prone to an unspecified cross-site scripting vulnerability because it fails to sufficiently sanitize user-supplied input.
An attacker may leverage this issue to execute arbitrary script code in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site. This may allow the attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials and to launch other attacks.
