| BubbleBoy, also known as VBS.BubbleBoy, is a Visual Basic Script based virus, which uses Outlook Express to propagate. This virus isn't anything new but rather the exploitation of an old vulnerability, which seems to have been passed without patching in some environments. |

Even though many have called this a new kind of virus (due to it fast propagation abilities) which supposedly exploits a new vulnerability in Microsoft's operating system, it is actually nothing but old news, and it could have been rendered useless if all of Microsoft's clients would have patched their systems against the vulnerability known as "Scriptlet.Typelib and Eyedog Security Vulnerability".
What should also be known is that BubbleBoy in its original form is harmless and it causes no danger to the infected computer, and that it uses Outlook as its primary way of propagation (it seems that Eudora is also vulnerable to this virus).
