ebay, a big on-line auction site, was hacked about two weeks ago.
The hacker, a 22 year old student, still has access to the site, the ability to change auction prices, change the information on the web site, fake ads and even take down the entire networks. |

According to Forbes, a hacker that goes by the nick MagicFX, gave Forbes a live demonstration on how he can freely access the web site.
MagicFX used simple account guessing techniques to gain local access to a FreeBSD machine, and then used a buffer overflow exploit to gain root. From there, he could access the rest of the machines on the network, which were Solaris machines, according to MagicFX
ebay claim that no credit card information was stolen and that they are working on preventing further hacking attempts.
