Because Solaris's /dev/rmt/* devices permissions' are set to 666 any user with a logon to the machine can execute "mt erase" (mt command enables administrators to control magnetic tape drive operations) on any of the tape devices, causing it to be erased.
An administrator can simply fix this problem by changing the permission rights to these devices.
