APC SmartUPS 2200 with APC PowerNET SNMP module installed is vulnerable to a verity of Denial of Services attacks including: nestea and teardrop. Sending a Denial of Service attack against the APC SmartUPS causes it to reboot.
The APC SmartUPS 2200 enables administrators to remotely administrate the UPS via a SNMP module, allowing them to find information about the status of the UPS, a malicious user could send a set of malformed packets to the UPS device causing it to stop responding (while it reboots) for a period of 30 seconds (in some cases up to 3 min), while the device reboots any interrupted power or power surge may cause damage to the device connected to the UPS.
APC acknowledges the bug, but currently does not think on fixing it.
