Deerfield's WinGate proxy and firewall software package was found to be vulnerable to a Denial of Service attack in which a malicious user sends a large amount of 'X' (or whatever other character he wishes) characters into a connection made to the Telnet Proxy (which seems to be vulnerable) or to the FTP proxy (which seems to be also vulnerable) causing the WinGate program to stop responding to requests (although you can still connect to it).
